.WW2 ‘Read All About It’ Musical
WW2 ‘Read All About It’ Musical. An informative WW2 musical play for schools. Covering themes explored in the KS2 and KS3 Curriculum allowing students to enter into past lives.
It’s the outbreak of World War Two
For those living in the cities there is no escape. Read all about it, Read all about it – We are now at war with Germany.
The Appleton children run into the street to find their friends, excited to share the news that World War Two has now begun. The boys become fighter pilots and charge at each other as the girls run for cover.
Inside their parents dwell on the challenges war will bring and worry for their children’s future. Millie and Thomas know that everything is about to change for the family. Dad is called up to fight and Mum is working in the munitions factory.
Air raid sirens are constantly ringing out across the skies and nights down the shelter become predictable. The children’s spirits aren’t dampened though. They can still find fun exploring the bomb sites and also becoming monsters in their gas masks.
The threat of air strikes and gas attacks have become part of everyday life, and it is now too dangerous.
Evacuation
They must make the difficult decision to evacuate the children to the countryside for their own safety.
A new adventure is about to begin for Elsie, John and George, as they leave their hometown for the first time ever as evacuees.
